Brian Tuckusfig, a resident of Wilson Meadows, addressed the council during public comment on May 19 to express concern about increasing residential density adjacent to his low‑density neighborhood.
Tuckusfig said a new infill neighborhood under development behind his home contains duplexes, townhomes and small lots that he described as “disproportionate” to Wilson Meadows’ larger lots. He said construction noise, equipment vibration and dust are already affecting daily life and worried the work could continue for five to 10 years. He urged the city to adopt a zoning classification that would ease transitions between low‑density and medium‑density areas — for example, an intermediary R1‑to‑R3 zone he said could preserve neighborhood character while accommodating growth.
Council members responded on the record: the mayor pro tem invited Tuckusfig to contact council and staff for follow up, and one council member said some colleagues privately shared his concerns. Staff did not present a formal zoning proposal during the meeting. Tuckusfig said he would follow up in writing and welcomed further discussion.
No formal action was taken; the comments were recorded for staff and council consideration during future planning discussions.
