The Pelham City Schools Board of Education approved several new-business items related to student travel and staff summer work.
The board approved three out-of-state field-trip requests for the Pelham High School boys basketball team: a summer camp at the University of North Georgia on June 18, 2025; a live-period camp at LakePoint Champions Center in Emerson, Georgia on June 21, 2025; and participation in the Marlin Christmas Tournament at Arnold High School in Panama City, Florida, scheduled for Dec. 26–30, 2025. Each trip was presented to the board, motions were made and the board approved the requests by voice vote.
Separately, the board approved two summer workdays for Pelham High School special-education teachers to partner with an instructor from the Bailey Group to develop a transition curriculum for grades 9–12. The district authorized stipends of $150 for a full day and $75 for a half day for six participating teachers. The proposal listed six teachers by position but the presenter did not read their names aloud at the meeting.
Board members asked if there were questions about the trips and stipends; none were raised before the motions were approved. The approvals were recorded on the meeting record and will be implemented by district athletics and human-resources staff.
