The requirement affects event organizers across Peachtree City because applications must meet state and local legislative requirements; instructions and the application form are available on the city website. Licenses issued under this process are valid through the end of the calendar year, and the renewal process begins in late fall.
“Did you know that in order to host an event that is open to the public where alcohol will be served or sold, you must first become a qualified location?” Staff member, a City staff member, said during the announcement.
Staff said the only exception is events held at The Avenue, which the city treats as an already qualified location for alcohol service.
“The application requirements can be found on our website at www.peachtree-city.org/alcohol,” the staff member said, and added that once the completed application packet is received the city will schedule the applicant for a public hearing before the Peachtree City Council.
“But once you receive the license, it is valid till the end of the year. In late fall, the renewal process will begin again,” the staff member said.
