The interim president of the LCUAS board announced and the board approved renaming a previously approved position to "executive director" and revising the benefits language before posting the vacancy.
Board members said the change was needed to align the hiring materials with the organization's bylaws and the local government corporation resolution with the City of Laredo. The board unanimously carried a motion to rename the posting and to change the benefits description to read "benefits and allowances available" in place of previously listed items such as health insurance stipends, cell phone and car allowances.
The board discussed where to advertise the vacancy. A motion that the position be posted on the LCUAS website and on paid or free job boards such as Indeed, and remain open until filled, carried on a voice vote. Board members said they would not prioritize posting on social media until they confirm account access for LCUAS; some members volunteered to help with Indeed and LinkedIn posting logistics.
Interim President (unnamed) stated the specific benefits language to be used: "benefits and allowances available." Secretary offered to circulate the revised draft and board members agreed to provide placement assistance.
Next steps: staff will update the draft job posting with the new title and benefits language, post it to the website and job boards once those revisions are complete, and return any final materials to the board for record. The board did not set a firm closing date other than "open until filled."
