MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — The Monongalia County Commission voted May 21 to provide $5,000 to the Morgantown Utility Board to support the household hazardous waste collection event scheduled for Aug. 2, 2025.
“The request is, dollars 5,000, which is typical over the last — ” County staff reported during the meeting, noting the amount mirrors previous annual contributions. Commissioners moved and seconded approval and recorded the vote as in favor.
The contribution covers the county’s typical share of the Morgantown Utility Board’s Hazardous Waste Collection Day program, a recurring collaborative event that provides residents a place to dispose of household hazardous materials. The commission did not amend the request or attach additional conditions during the May 21 session.
County staff will coordinate with the Morgantown Utility Board on payment and logistics ahead of the Aug. 2 event.
