Alderman Cook moved to award the unit‑price agreement to Schroeder Asphalt Services and Alderman Doherty seconded; the council approved the construction agreement by roll call. Director Adams said the sanitary sewer installation will be performed by a subcontractor under Schroeder as the general contractor and that staff budgeted for the project based on bid results, adding that he hoped the contingency would not be needed.
Director Adams said the construction will include sidewalk, curb and gutter along Venice Avenue and that staff hopes to start this summer and finish by fall, pending final contract execution.
