City administrator notifies council of upcoming Eagle Prairie zoning request for 402 homes

City Administrator Kent Wiggins told the Bruceville-Eddy City Council on May 20 that a zoning application known as Eagle Prairie will be presented to council on June 26 seeking a change from Single-Family-1 to a Planned Development District to allow up to 402 homes.
"This will be a single family 1 to a planned development district request for 402 homes," Wiggins said. He told council the applicant has circulated required notices and the city has mailed letters to neighbors this week.
Wiggins said the applicant has made some adjustments after council comments at an April 29 meeting but "didn't get everything that was requested." He told council the applicant is preparing a preliminary plat "based on their vested rights should the application for the zoning change be deemed unsuccessful in their opinion at this next meeting." No formal action was taken at the May 20 meeting; council will consider the zoning change at the June 26 meeting and may receive additional materials in advance.
Wiggins also said the Economic Development Corporation recently voted to broadcast future EDC meetings on YouTube and had compiled suggested motto revisions for council consideration.
