Staff explained the department logs complaints, performs inspections, issues courtesy letters to educate homeowners, and can escalate to notice of violation or further action if problems are not corrected.
City staff cautioned that complaint emails and records are subject to public records requests; they noted SeeClickFix allows anonymous reporting. Commissioners and staff discussed sending outreach materials — door hangers and contractor education — and the potential to recognize contractors who follow best practices as an incentive to change behavior.
