The Bexley planning board granted a certificate of appropriateness for a refreshed business sign at 2710 East Main Street, allowing the tenant to replace the existing lollipop sign with updated graphics and limited illumination.
Planning staff explained Main Street design guidelines generally discourage tall pole signs over 48 inches high; the applicant reduced the sign height to comply. Staff said the only illuminated elements will be the white letters of the business name and a green logo element will remain dark.
David Stefan, the sign installer, said the updated sign is a "refresh" — matching the existing size and replacing weathered faces — and that landscaping and shrouding will reduce visual impact. The board voted to approve a certificate of appropriateness after staff recommended approval.
The applicant may proceed with sign fabrication and installation consistent with the approved plans and must follow standard permitting and electrical inspection processes for illuminated letters.
