The RSU 22 Board of Directors voted unanimously to approve the district’s fiscal year 2026 budget, totaling $40,783,924.15, representing a 4.53% increase over the prior year, the board was told.
Superintendent staff said the budget change from the version discussed on May 14 was small: an increase of $20 per iPad (an expense offset by device revenue) and a few personnel adjustments. The board was given the full packet and advised of the paperwork and signature process required for school‑budget election procedures: multiple forms and 15 coordinated blue‑ink signatures across copies of notices and warrant articles.
Board members were reminded the district budget meeting will be held Thursday, June 5, in the Hamden Academy gym and that the June board meeting will be Thursday, June 12 — dates the superintendent asked members to note. The superintendent also reviewed that paper copies of the notice of amounts, the notice of election, and the warrant articles require consistent signatures and that any last‑minute changes must be hand‑entered on the forms prior to signing.
When the budget motion was called, the board chair asked for discussion; none was raised and the motion passed unanimously.
