Oxford City Council adopted an ordinance on May 20 to amend the supplemental budget for fiscal year 2025. As part of the ordinance staff announced a one-year extension of the city’s contract with GovOS for short-term-rental tax collection and processing at an additional cost of $28.50.
Finance staff said Assistant City Manager Jessica Green negotiated to continue the GovOS contract for one year while the city explores other processing options. "We did continue, agreed to continue our contract with the short term rental collection, GovOS, for 1 year ... to not renew this contract at this time, we would have no means to do that," a finance staff member explained.
Council proceeded with a roll-call vote and adopted the supplemental budget ordinance. Staff said more detailed budgetary changes will be reflected in the ordinances and supporting documents for the budget cycle.
