The Joliet Township High School District 204 Board of Education opened and closed a public hearing on adopting e-learning days in lieu of emergency days and later voted to approve the district’s e-learning plan for school years 2026–2028.
District staff explained that school districts may adopt a resolution allowing e-learning days to replace emergency days and that, after board adoption, the district’s e-learning program must be verified by the Will County Regional Office of Education before it can be implemented.
During the hearing no members of the public spoke. The board formally closed the hearing and, during the action portion of the meeting, approved the e-learning plan for 2026–2028 by roll-call vote.
A board member asked for clarity prior to the vote about whether the related contract under a subsequent action item was a Medicaid billing agreement; that item was discussed separately and approved. The e-learning plan approval passed on a roll-call vote of board members present.
