Instructional materials, WIAA membership and three out-of-state student trips scheduled for June agenda

Staff also recommended annual renewal of membership in the Washington Interscholastic Activities Association, which sanctions events and tournaments for middle and high school sports in the state and requires annual board action.
The committee previewed three out-of-state travel requests: a music trip to Magic Music Days in Anaheim, California; a surf-and-slam tournament in San Diego; and a prize trip for three students and an adviser to the Kennedy Space Center (the trip was described by staff as a contest prize received by students). The presenter said the Kennedy Space Center trip involved three students and one adviser.
These items will appear on the June 3 agenda for board action; the committee did not take final votes at this meeting.
