Brett Blechman, staff member, told the committee the district will recommend two purchase agreements for board approval on June 3: one for laptops and desktop computers for Career and Technical Education and one for roof replacements at Hazeldale and Lakeshore.
Blechman said the CTE computer purchase (purchase agreement 2025-10) would total $207,358 plus Washington state sales tax and that the selected vendor is Insight Public Sector under an Omnia Partners competitive national bid. "The amount would be $207,358 plus Washington state sales tax, and the selected vendor is Insight Public Sector through a competitive national bid process administered by Omnia Partners," Blechman said.
He described the roof work (purchase agreement 2020-513) as spanning two summers with Hazeldale slotted for the upcoming summer and Lakeshore the following summer. The vendor named was Willdan Energy Solutions and the total for both roofs was $3,531,003.38 plus Washington state sales tax. Blechman said the projects are planned under an energy services program that can generate rebates for enhanced insulation.
Funding for the roof projects was described as coming from the district's capital projects fund, composed of residual state match money from bond projects and property-sale proceeds; Blechman said "there will be no general fund impact on these." He also said staff will leverage available rebates where possible.
Both purchase agreements were presented as recommendations for the June 3 consent agenda; no vote was taken at the committee meeting.
