ULCT compiling city compliance with SB 174 subdivision changes; municipalities asked to confirm updates

ULCT staff said on May 21 they are compiling a master list of municipalities that have updated subdivision ordinances to comply with SB 174, a recent statewide subdivisions bill that included a delayed effective date and technical assistance funding.
The league noted that some cities used technical assistance funded through the Department of Workforce Services to update ordinances and that ULCT wants to document which municipalities completed the updates. A slide shown at the meeting listed cities for which ULCT had not yet received confirmation.
"If your name is on this list, it doesn't mean you haven't done it. It just means we haven't heard back from you," ULCT staff said, asking officials to use the chat or email Alexa (ULCT) to confirm compliance.
ULCT framed the exercise as a way to demonstrate to the governor and legislators that municipalities implemented the negotiated changes from the bill and to identify remaining gaps that might need further assistance or outreach.
Multiple city representatives posted confirmations in the meeting chat during the presentation and ULCT said it will follow up by email with cities that did not confirm during the meeting.
