The City of Riverside Planning Commission on May 21 appointed Mr. Harrison to serve on the CRA Housing Council and named Commissioner Vasquez to represent the commission on the Riverside Community Improvement Corporation.
Staff explained the CRA Housing Council is a seven‑member advisory body that evaluates proposals for tax incentives within Community Reinvestment Areas; the planning commission is responsible for appointing one member to the council. After nominations were opened, commissioners closed nominations, moved to appoint Harrison and approved the appointment by voice vote.
The commission also selected a planning‑commission representative to the Riverside Community Improvement Corporation (CIC), a nonprofit partner authorized to assist the city’s economic work and property disposition; Commissioner Vasquez accepted the nomination and the commission approved his appointment by voice vote.
Both appointments were made by motion and carried without recorded roll‑call tallies in the meeting minutes; absent commissioners at the time were Mr. Owens and Mr. Rogers. Appointees should coordinate with staff on any onboarding steps and meeting schedules.
