The Prattville City Council on Tuesday approved a budget amendment to pay Alabama Power up to $124,399.42 to install and maintain lighting services for the Spillway Park renovations project.
Councilor Strzyzyk introduced the resolution, which decreases funds from the City Hall annex renovations capital project and increases the Spillway Park improvements line by the same amount. The resolution authorizes the mayor to enter into an agreement with Alabama Power for the lighting services at a cost not to exceed $124,399.42 and directs that funds be appropriated from the fiscal 2025 capital projects fund.
The item passed on a motion, second and voice vote with no recorded roll call. The resolution instructs the mayor to execute documents necessary to carry out the agreement.
Why it matters: The lighting installation is part of the Spillway Park renovation scope and represents a material capital cost that has been reallocated from another capital project within the FY2025 budget.
Implementation steps include executing the agreement with Alabama Power and coordinating installation timing with park renovation work.
