CUSD 200 board approves personnel report, sets salary increases for exempt and admin staff

The CUSD 200 Board of Education approved a personnel report May 21 that included employment, resignations, retirements and leaves of absence across administrative, certified, classified and nonunion staff, and recommended salary adjustments for exempt and administrative employees.
District staff told the board the board had recently approved a collective bargaining agreement with CEA (the certificated employees association) and is in the second year of a four-year agreement with WWEA (the teachers' union). Staff said two employee groups are not covered by those contracts: exempt support staff and administrative staff. The personnel report recommended a 4.5 percent increase for exempt staff and a 3 percent increase for administrative staff.
"We generally anchor salary increases for all of our support staff around, where our union contract is," district staff said, noting the timing of the CEA agreement affected the personnel recommendations. Staff added the 3 percent administrative recommendation is "almost exactly where cost of living was, at year end December of 20 24."
A motion to approve the personnel report was moved by Mr. Long and seconded by Miss Everson. Miss Hutchison called the roll: Mr. Long, Miss Everson, Miss Blattner, Miss Cullovitz, Mr. Rutledge and Mr. Hamlin voted yes and the motion passed.
