Shorewood approves intergovernmental agreement with Whitefish Bay for Oakland Avenue water improvements

The Village Board of Shorewood approved an intergovernmental cooperation agreement with the Village of Whitefish Bay to facilitate water distribution improvements along Oakland Avenue.
Trustee Warren moved to approve the agreement; Trustee McGovern seconded and the motion passed unanimously. Director Butchlick explained the work will separate the two municipal systems at the intersection so that some properties will be served by Whitefish Bay and others will remain on Shorewood’s system. Butchlick said the separation point is approximately 50 feet north of the intersection at the prior metered connection; four properties south of Glendale will remain on Shorewood’s line while four properties will be connected to the new Whitefish Bay system and two will connect via Oakland.
The board approved the agreement as recommended by the Community and Business Relations Committee; no additional amendments were recorded in the meeting discussion.
