City to open new police and public works campus for public tours June 1

Staff said the event is planned as a family-friendly open house with guided and self-guided tours, a 1 p.m. ribbon-cutting, light refreshments and takeaway items. "We've got guided and self guided tours. We're gonna have a booklet that folks will be able to take their own tour, like a museum type thing," a city staff member said. The event runs from 1–5 p.m.
Council and staff framed the open house as an opportunity for taxpayers to see the new facility and for the city to preserve materials — including short videos and a booklet — for historical records. No policy or budget decisions were made at the meeting; the announcement invited residents to attend the June 1 open house and tour the facility.
