The Rosemount City Council voted Tuesday to approve the vacation of recorded ingress, egress and parking easements affecting the Morrison apartment property, a title-cleanup tied to prior redevelopment in downtown Rosemount.
City staff member Keaneberger said the easements dated to earlier uses on multiple parcels — including legacy commercial structures — and were discovered in a title search during recent transactions. "We don't have any public interest in those current easements that are recorded against the property and are recommending vacation of those easements," Keaneberger said.
No members of the public spoke during the public hearing. Councilmember Freske moved to adopt the resolution; the motion passed with a recorded vote reported in the meeting transcript as aye by Wiesenthal, Freske, Esler and Humble. Staff described the action as a cleanup step to remove outdated private easement claims from the property's record so marketable title can be confirmed.
The council did not attach conditions or additional policy direction to the vacation. Staff will process the formal recording to remove the vacated easement entries from the property title records.
