The Southern Kern Unified School District Board of Trustees completed third readings and approved School Plans for Student Achievement (SPSA) for multiple campuses to align site goals with district LCAP priorities.
Administrators and site leaders presented revised SPSAs for Rosemont High Early College Campus, Abraham Lincoln (elementary), Rare Earth/Rosemont High (as presented in the packet), Tropico Middle School, Rosemont Elementary and West Park Elementary. Staff described closer alignment of goals and metrics to the Local Control and Accountability Plan (LCAP) and noted that three schools had additional revisions to goals and data since previous readings.
The board moved and seconded approval for each SPSA and recorded voice votes of "Aye" in the meeting transcript for each campus item. Staff stressed the need to approve the plans before the June 30 deadline so sites can implement actions tied to the next school year. The district will maintain the approved SPSAs in site records and use them to guide Title I and other program spending decisions.
No board member recorded substantive opposition in the excerpts provided; motions were carried as presented.
