Councilmembers discussed rejoining the National League of Cities and asked staff to check the current fee schedule and membership benefits before making a decision.
Mayor Murphy and other councilmembers said they recalled the city had previously been a member and that the organization had provided value in the past. A councilmember asked about cost; the City Manager reported the fee for municipalities of 5,000–10,000 population for fiscal year '25 is $13.14. "It would be the fee for 5,000 to 10,000 in population would be $13.14 dollars for fiscal year 25," the City Manager reported.
Council directed staff to research whether the fee would be prorated and to report back. The Committee of the Whole then voted to table the membership item until the next meeting; the roll call recorded approval to table the item.
