Law Director said the commission recently updated its rules and asked the committee to return the ordinance from the table for a formal vote. "What we would like to do is bring back that tabled ordinance to the first meeting in June in order to codify the updated Merit System Commission rules at MCO 149," the Law Director said.
Councilmember Ms. Marcus made the motion to move the ordinance forward; the roll call recorded unanimous approval. No substantive discussion or amendments were made during the Committee of the Whole meeting.
The return-to-agenda action sends the ordinance to the next regular council meeting where councilmembers will have a formal opportunity to debate, amend or adopt the codification as proposed.
