The Berkeley County Commission opened bids for two procurement items at the May 12 meeting but did not award either contract.
For the sheriff’s department request for 23 mobile data computers, county staff recorded six responses. The bids reported in the meeting transcript included a low bid from a local firm (The Company LLC, Willing, West Virginia) at $19,898.48 and other bids ranging up to $51,445.02. County staff said the solicitation was advertised on the county website and in the newspaper and distributed to known vendors; bids were received from Concourse Tech Inc., Strategic Sourcing, NCS Technologies, Hypertech USA, Berry Solutions Group, and The Company LLC.
Separately, the commission opened bids for office chairs for the Day Report Center second floor; two bids were recorded, including Laborers Office Furniture (Hagerstown, Maryland) at $22,273.70 and Global Endrick Industrial at $30,887.80.
No award motions or contract approvals were made during the public bid openings; procurement staff will evaluate bids and return recommended awards to the commission for approval at a later date.
