American Fork High graduates urged to "create your moments" at 2025 commencement

Carly Haveli, student body president, told the American Fork High School Class of 2025 onstage that "there is power in moments" and urged graduates to "create your moments" as the school held its commencement ceremony.

The ceremony, which recognized the mayor of American Fork, Brad Frost, superintendent Dr. Jane Farnsworth and other district representatives as guests, also highlighted recent school achievements. Haveli cited multiple state championship wins, a band appearance at Grand Nationals, and said the student body "raised over $30,000 for families in need." The national anthem was sung by Cambria Hasler and student officers Abigail Combs and Madeline Sell were listed among those participating; Bryson Moyes was introduced as salutatorian.

Haveli framed the speech around personal memories and small acts of connection: "Maybe it's the time a friend remembered your name, or the time you were invited to go out to lunch for the first time with a friend group you now have," she said. She recounted athletic and extracurricular highlights, including a recent sequence of state championships and the marching band reaching Grand Nationals finals. She described those moments as formative and encouraged classmates to carry their connections forward after graduation.

Remarks onstage were celebratory and descriptive; no formal actions, votes, or policy decisions were made during the ceremony. Attendees included city and school officials seated on the dais and multiple student leaders and performers who participated in the program.

The ceremony closed after student reflections, distribution of diplomas and the customary stage procession; speakers focused on retrospective and forward-looking encouragement rather than administrative or policy matters.
