Paul said the consultant "is drafting a, pretty much a scope for the design, the survey, you know, provide us, you know you know, all of our elements on a map to show, you know, where everything's going to be laying out, allows staff to, you know, make adjustments to that, you know, the layout of the new field that we're putting on the multipurpose field." He added the city already has FDOT specifications for the parking resurfacing, which should simplify bidding for the lot milling and repaving.
Staff noted the dog park will be fenced and that the city must work with the St. Johns River agency to determine required setbacks from the river: "We have to work with Saint John's water because we have guidelines to follow," Paul said. The project timeline is not urgent—staff said the grant has a three-year window and the city plans to have the engineering scope ready within one to two months and pursue construction the following year.
No board vote occurred; the board received the update and will be informed when the consultant submits design documents and permitting steps begin.
