"The closure is all about safety," Stoler said, adding the work requires the roadway to be closed in both directions because that section is only two lanes. City messaging says construction is planned during the summer to limit disruption to the PISD Holyfield Science Learning Center.
Plano said it has received complaints about this section of roadway over the last year and that the closure is the best way to complete the repairs. All lanes are expected to be open by July 1 to accommodate the city’s Fourth of July festival.
Drivers who use Spring Creek Parkway should plan alternate routes during June while crews perform the concrete-panel repairs. For additional information, the city directed residents to Plano.gov.
