Cobb County opens bids for stream stabilization, parks projects and sheriff motorcycles

Cobb County procurement staff opened seven bids on behalf of the Cobb County Board of Commissioners, announcing bidders and total prices for projects that include stream stabilization at River Heights Crossing, multiple parks contracts, drainage work and the purchase of two Harley-Davidson motorcycles for the sheriff’s office.
The bids were read aloud by county staff member Daryl McCook, who said the county received multiple bids for the water department’s S3049 stream stabilization project and that a bid bond was required for that solicitation. McCook also said one Oregon Park lower ball field parking and access bid could not be announced because it lacked a required bid bond.

County staff opened bids for S3049, the stream stabilization at River Heights Crossing, and read five proposals and amounts: CGS LLC — $395,000; Reynolds Construction LLC — $913,487; LJ Incorporated — $1,159,492; K M Davis Contracting Company, Inc. — $1,425,000; and (final bidder name announced as) a m davis and contracting company incorporated (read as K M Davis Contracting Company, Inc.). McCook clarified that a bid bond is required for S3049 and said all bidders he read for that item submitted a bid bond.
For procurement number 256898, a construction manager-at-risk RFP for a new Department of Transportation signal and sign shop, McCook read only firm names because the selection will consider multiple factors; the firms announced included Albion General Contractors Incorporated, Binning Construction, Cooper and Company General Contractors Incorporated, Hogan Construction Group LLC, John W. Spratlin and Son LLC and Penncor Construction.
Parks bids included procurement 256902 for court construction and maintenance, with Signature Tennis Courts Incorporated submitting $305,425.90, Court Renew LLC at $409,125 and Matchpoint Tennis at $531,176. For procurement 256903 (drainage equipment, clearing, grubbing and unclassified excavation) the announced bids were WE Contracting Company Incorporated — $15,260.50; Elk Remodeling Incorporated — $18,997.60; Capital Sports Construction Incorporated — $26,653.65; and HD Excavations and Utilities LLC — $35,985.
For procurement 256904, the Oregon Park Lower Ball Field and court parking and access improvements, McCook said two bids were received but one could not be announced because it lacked a bid bond; the only announced bid was from Complete Site LLC at $2,419,000.
Procurement 256905 covered the purchase of two Harley-Davidson motorcycles for the sheriff’s office; the county received three bids: Southern Motorcycles Incorporated — $66,839.60; R Squared Savannah Incorporated — $67,955.74; and Bonded Brilliant Solutions LLC — $72,674.
McCook closed the reading by reminding listeners that a listing of bidding opportunities and, once approved, preliminary bid results and awards are available on the Cobb County website and the OpenGov portal. He also announced the next scheduled bid opening for Thursday, June 12, 2025.
No formal award decisions were made during the bid opening; the session was limited to reading bid submissions and noting any immediate procedural exclusions (such as a missing bid bond).
