Avon council reauthorizes CF-1 compliance forms for four logistics and industrial buildings

The Avon Town Council approved CF-1 compliance forms on May 22 to reauthorize four buildings that previously received tax abatements, Economic Development Director John Taylor said.
"We have four buildings tonight looking to be reauthorized," John Taylor told the council, describing two VanTrust buildings and two Chicago Industrial buildings and noting that the larger VanTrust building on Reagan is occupied.
Taylor provided investment and size figures presented to staff: a VanTrust building of about 300,000 square feet; a Sephora distribution building described as 732,000 square feet with an investment figure cited as about $73,000,000; and two Chicago Industrial buildings with larger square footage and investment figures discussed during the presentation. Taylor said three of the buildings were built speculatively, two are now occupied, and that some job numbers have not yet been reported to the town; he said staff will add job numbers to the records once those buildings become operational.
"It'll be available to them at the end of this year," Taylor said of the Sephora building, and he added that Sephora does not plan to begin operations until sometime in 2026.
The council moved and voted to approve the CF-1 forms for Avon Landings and Avon Logistics. The roll-call vote recorded all council members present voting in favor.
The approvals reauthorize the properties’ compliance with previously granted abatements; John Taylor said staff will update job counts and other compliance details as tenants occupy and operate the facilities.
