The ordinance sets the city's operating expenditures and municipal fee schedule for the coming fiscal year and allocates hotel/motel tax receipts. The public hearing on the ordinance drew no members of the public to the podium, and council approved the measure by voice vote.
Finance Director Elaine Jones presented the budget at the meeting's public hearings and again asked the council to consider the ordinance for final passage. Jones had earlier provided the council with the written budget, tax report and balance sheet for April.
The council moved and seconded approval on second reading and adopted the ordinance after the hearing closed. No roll‑call tally was recorded in the meeting minutes; the action was taken by voice vote.
