North Miami records six timely proposals for Darrow Surplus Auction Services RFP 292425

The City of North Miami purchasing department opened and recorded six timely proposals for RFP No. 292425, Darrow Surplus Auction Services, Purchasing Director Alberto Estrada said at a public bid opening. The opening documented the names of firms that submitted proposals on time; no evaluation or award decisions were made at the session.

Estrada, identified as the city's purchasing director, read the names of the six proposers for the record. He said, "The first company is Royal Auction Group Incorporated." He also read "IAS Family Incorporated, doing business as Insight Auctioneers," "Insurance Auto Auctions Corporation," "Bidera LLC," "Auctions International Incorporated," and the individual proposer "Richard Bates." Estrada stated the names were being documented "on a timely basis" and that the list would be signed and filed.

"Because this is an RFP, which requires an evaluation process by an evaluation committee, the opening is just exclusively to be able to document the name of the bidders who submitted on a timely basis their proposals for this solicitation," Estrada said. He added, "The next step is the evaluation process and an evaluation committee and to determine the final ranking and selection for this proposal." No ranking, selection, or contract award took place during the opening.

Martha Rodney of the City Clerk's Office was present to document the submissions and sign the record. Jorge Hernandez from Fleet Management and Jorge McCall from the purchasing department were also present during the opening. A staff member identified as "Corey" assisted with the roll call of proposers.

The recorded action at the session was limited to documenting timely submissions for RFP No. 292425. Estrada closed the opening by saying he would sign off on the record and thanking bidders for their interest in doing business with the city.
