Clay County Motor Vehicle Supervisor Lori asked the board Tuesday for approval to hire two full‑time deputy auditors to replace recent resignations.
Lori told commissioners one staffer left to return to school and another accepted a different opportunity. “Requesting approval with backfill, please,” she said. Commissioners moved and seconded the hiring request and approved it by voice vote.
Commissioners praised the motor‑vehicle staff for handling demand at the Moorhead DMV site and noted that early problems with enhanced‑license demand eased after the county began requiring appointments. Lori said she has not seen a large uptick in demand from nearby offices discontinuing driver‑license issuance; she described appointments and online scheduling as the primary way residents obtain an enhanced license.
The board’s motion authorized county staff to fill the two positions as full‑time deputy auditors in the motor‑vehicle division.
