The Clay County Board of Commissioners voted Tuesday to approve hiring two full‑time deputy auditors to backfill recent resignations in the Motor Vehicle Department.
Larry, representing the Motor Vehicle Department, said "I'm just looking to, hire 2 new, full time Deputy Auditors in the Motor Vehicle Department. I had 2 resignations recently. One's going back to school and the other one's just moving on to a different opportunity. So requesting approval with backfill, please."
Commissioners discussed that appointment scheduling and the new Moorhead facility have reduced public complaints. One commissioner noted that negative comments had declined and that online reactions about the Moorhead DMV were "for the most part they're positive." Larry said the office required appointments for some services during peak periods and that demand for enhanced licenses had eased compared with earlier surges.
A motion to approve hiring two deputy auditors with backfill was made by Commissioner Moshe and seconded by Commissioner Ebinger; the board voted in favor and the motion carried.
County staff will proceed with recruitment to fill the two vacancies in the Motor Vehicle Department.
