Members of the Town of Southborough Golf Committee voted to approve a recommendation to spend up to $25,000 to repave the first-old cart path at the municipal golf course.
The committee motioned and seconded the recommendation and recorded the item as passed during the meeting. Committee members discussed only approving the recommendation and noted that the town ultimately controls disbursement of funds.
Committee members said they have obtained contractor pricing and emphasized that final invoices, mobilization charges and line-item costs must be reviewed before the town releases funds. One member estimated typical contractor mobilization fees in the range of about $1,500 and said April quotes were being used for budgeting.
The committee also discussed coordination with town staff and the Department of Public Works for scheduling and oversight once the town approves the expenditure. Members agreed to follow up with the town point person to confirm the town’s authorization to proceed.
The committee recorded no further amendments to the motion at the meeting and did not schedule a separate public hearing on the work.
The decision shifts the next steps to town administration and staff, who the committee said will confirm funding release and contractor scheduling.
