Worthington board approves annual Title I family engagement policies; lists affected schools

The Board of Education approved two Title I policies and heard which district schools receive Title I staffing allocations.
The Worthington City Board of Education approved the annual review of two Title I policies: Policy 2.111, the parent and family engagement policy, and Policy 2.261, the parent and family member participation in Title I policy.
Superintendent Dr. Bowers presented the policies to the board on July 22 and said the district is required to approve them annually under federal law. He told the board the district is not recommending any changes this year.
Dr. Bowers listed the schools that receive Title I staffing: Slate Hill is a schoolwide Title I campus; Brookside and Colonial Hills each receive a half‑time staff member; Granby, Liberty, Worthington Estates and Worthington Park each have one staff member; and Perry Middle School has one staff member.
Dr. Bowers said the district uses Title I resources to allocate extra staffing based on student qualification and that the policies “outline our responsibilities as a school district as school leaders in engaging families in the Title I process.”
The board posed no questions and approved the policies by voice vote as presented.
