North Ridgeville Board approves personnel reports; introduces Carly Schroeder as interim operations director

At its Jan. 7 meeting the North Ridgeville City Board of Education approved several human resources items in one reading, including resignations, contracts, substitute agreements and appointments. The motion to approve the human resources report was made by Mr. Haynes and seconded; the roll call vote recorded Mr. Haynes, Ms. Saxon, Mr. Grigsby, Ms. McCarthy and Mr. Bakker as voting yes.
The human resources packet presented to the board included the following items (as read into the record by Mr. Haynes): one non-represented support staff resignation; five support staff resignations; one administrative contract; one certified staff lead replacement contract; one support staff appointment; three support staff substitute contracts; and three support staff leaves of absence. The board also considered an additional single support staff appointment in a subsequent motion; that item was approved in the same manner.
The superintendent introduced Carly Schroeder as the district's interim operations director, thanking the board for approving the appointment. "I have the honor this evening to thank you for the approval of our interim operations director, Carly Schroeder," the superintendent said. He described Schroeder as an internal candidate who joined the operations team in August and praised her work ethic, problem solving and familiarity with district systems. The superintendent said Schroeder previously worked in the private sector as an operations director for a marketing and advertising firm and in other administrative roles.
Schroeder addressed the board, saying she appreciated the opportunity and was "very excited to work with everybody and learn this new role." The superintendent said the district selected an internal interim candidate after interviewing a candidate pool and noted confidence in Schroeder's ability to strengthen the operations team.
