Delaware County approves five-year service agreement for Vesta 911 phone system

The Delaware County Board of Commissioners on May 19 approved a five-year service agreement with Com Products Inc., doing business as BNZ Communications, for the county's Vesta 911 phone system.
Lauren Yankannon, director of 911, told the board the contract is a five-year agreement billed annually and that the county expects roughly $77,000 per year. She said the stated total ("300 plus thousand") covers the full five years and that Motorola and the vendor had not realized the county's prior service contract had lapsed for eight months. "They waived the back charges for those 8 months, in exchange for us signing a 5 year agreement," Yankannon said.
Commissioners asked whether the county had used the firm before and confirmed it was a renewal. The board approved Resolution No. 25-369 to accept the service agreement. The vote recorded Commissioners Gary Merrill and Jeff Benton as aye; Commissioner Barb Lewis was absent.
No changes to 911 service levels or additional operational directives were discussed; the presentation focused on contract term, annual cost and the vendor relationship.
