Vernon schools honor educators and retirees; student representative delivers final report

The board read a retirement resolution and a roll call list of retirees and presented a resolution honoring Student Representative Christina Chianella for her year of service to the board. Christina delivered her final student representative report, recounting recent school events — orchestra and band concerts, AP testing, spring athletics, senior night and prom — and said, "I will always be a Viking, so go Vikings," before board members publicly thanked her and approved the resolution of recognition on the agenda.
The board recessed briefly after the recognitions for a social gathering to honor retirees and award recipients and then resumed the public session to continue business.
