County approves agreement for drainage-engineer duties with County Engineer Chris Spozerman

The Delaware County Board of Commissioners approved an agreement on Jan. 9 authorizing County Engineer Chris Spozerman to perform the duties of the county drainage engineer.
The agreement, adopted by Resolution No. 2506, was described in the meeting as continuing the same terms that have governed prior agreements; the county engineer told commissioners the only changes are updated dates. "It's a role that I've held for several years. I'm glad to continue in that role," Chris Spozerman said during the discussion. He also said the county drainage engineer position is responsible for "complying with the EPA regulations for water quality management in our activities and in our infrastructure."
County officials said the code authorizes an agreement between the board and the county engineer to perform drainage-engineer duties. The board voted to approve the agreement; Commissioners Barb Lewis and Gary Merrill recorded aye votes. No changes to compensation or duties beyond date updates were described in the public meeting.
The signed agreement will be filed with county administration and implemented through the County Engineer's office. Commissioners asked no additional changes and did not record public comment on the item.
Next steps: county staff will file the signed agreement and the County Engineer will continue performing the drainage-engineer duties under the approved terms.
