The Delaware County Board of Commissioners voted unanimously on a slate of routine resolutions during its Jan. 9 meeting, approving administrative records, travel and purchasing actions, forwarding two liquor-license applications to the Ohio Division of Liquor Control with no objection, authorizing a request for proposals for economic development consulting and adjourning into executive session on pending or imminent litigation.
Why it matters: The approvals clear administrative business so county staff can proceed with purchasing, contracting and regulatory filings. The RFP for economic development consulting and the authorization to seek vehicles for the sheriff’s office are the items with ongoing operational effect.
The board approved Resolution No. 2501 to adopt the electronic record of proceedings for the Dec. 23, 2024 regular meeting. Commissioners recorded no public comment and moved on to a series of ministerial approvals. Resolution No. 2502 authorized payment of warrants and approval of purchase orders in batch CM APR 0108. Resolution No. 2503 approved a travel expense request. The board then considered two liquor-license matters: Resolution No. 2504 forwards a license application from Lost in the Woods LLC (Lost in the Woods Bike Shop) to the Ohio Division of Liquor Control with no objection and no request for a hearing; Resolution No. 2505 does the same for Bento’s Lunch LLC. Both were forwarded with no objection.
On procurement and services, the board approved Resolution No. 2507, authorizing the county to issue a request for proposals for economic development management, advisory and consulting services and setting the date and time to receive proposals. General Counsel Eric Hostetler told the board the resolution would authorize the RFP for county economic development services.
The board also approved Resolution No. 2508, a resolution of necessity to purchase or lease motor vehicles for the Delaware County Sheriff’s Office. Sheriff’s Office staff explained the action continues the department’s vehicle-replacement program; five vehicles on current lease are due to be returned and replaced this year and two administrative vehicles from 2014 will be replaced and auctioned.
Commissioners approved Resolution No. 2506, which authorizes an agreement with County Engineer Chris Spozerman to perform the duties of county drainage engineer (see separate article). Finally the board approved Resolution No. 2509 to adjourn into executive session for consideration of pending or imminent litigation.
