Walworth County staff informed the Human Resources Committee on May 20 that Administrator Mark Liberta approved a 31-day overfill of a captain position in the Walworth County Sheriff’s Office to assist with transition before the incumbent’s retirement.

County staff said Captain Rob Hall will retire July 1 after 29 years with the Sheriff’s Office and that the sheriff requested an overfill from June 1 through July 1 to facilitate a successful transition. Staff cited Walworth County ordinance 15 18, which permits administrator approval for overfills under 60 days; Administrator Mark Liberta approved the request and the committee was notified as required.

Committee members were told this item was a notification to the committee and no committee action was required.
