Olive Branch orders cleanup of multiple properties, directs staff to proceed

The Olive Branch Board of Aldermen voted unanimously to declare several privately owned lots to be a public health and safety nuisance and to authorize city staff or contract labor to clean the properties forthwith.
City staff presented photographs and a status update identifying properties that remained overgrown or otherwise uncleaned and several that had been cleared since the packet went out. No property owners appeared at the hearing and no members of the public spoke in opposition.
Staff identified addresses included in the cleanup action: 9236 Railroad Avenue; 4322 Lexi Drive; 6380 Nesting Dove Drive; 4178 Duval Drive; 4199 Bethel Road; and others shown in the meeting packet. Staff said one property (9893 Cherokee Drive) had already been cleaned and that the Hernandez property in Magnolia Gardens had been bush-hogged.
Alderman Wallace moved approval; Alderman Aldridge seconded. The motion passed by unanimous voice vote and directs the city to proceed with cleaning of the remaining flagged properties and to charge or pursue cost recovery in accordance with city code where applicable.
Staff noted the before-and-after photos in the record and said the locations and images are part of the administrative file. The board closed public comment on the item before taking its vote.
The action is administrative: it declares nuisance conditions and authorizes abatement by city staff or contractors. Specific scheduling and billing actions will follow the city’s code-enforcement process and individual property notifications.
