The Sioux Falls City Council voted unanimously Tuesday to approve five new retail alcohol licenses and one license transfer.
City Attorney Feifley told the council that items 14 through 18 had been reviewed by the city's licensing team and “each of them satisfies all the legal requirements to be issued, approved and issued by this body.” No members of the public spoke on the items. Councilor Sale moved approval; a second was recorded and the measure passed 8-0.
The approvals included a new 2025 retail wine license and a 2025–26 retail malt beverage license for Envy Nails and Spa at 611 South Hiawatha Place, two off-sale malt beverage licenses for separate applicants at 3505 West 40th Street and 112 South Van Eps Avenue, and a transfer of an off-sale malt beverage license (including video lottery placement) for Quan Holdings from one corporate entity to another at 2417 East 10th Street, Suite B.
City staff did not report any outstanding legal conditions attached to the licenses at the meeting. The City Attorney and licensing staff answered council questions before the vote and confirmed the applications met statutory and local criteria.
The licenses take effect according to the city’s normal licensing process and any applicable state rules for retail alcoholic beverage sales.
