The Biloxi City Council unanimously approved a resolution granting conditional-use approval for a tattoo parlor at 291 Coventry Square Drive.
Councilmember Tisdale moved the measure and it was seconded and carried without opposition. Planning staff described the site as a tenant space in an existing commercial strip center behind the Take 5 oil-change facility and said there is commercial and light-industrial activity nearby; there are apartments at the south end of Coventry Square Drive but no single-family homes on the same block.
A city official noted the Planning Commission approved the request 13-0. Council members who reviewed photos and site plans told colleagues they found the request reasonable and consistent with surrounding commercial uses.
With the council’s action the applicant may proceed with the conditional-use activity subject to any conditions listed in the Planning Commission’s approval and standard permitting.
