County staff reports progress on treasurer remodel, IT server room, jail and Veterans Building

The treasurer’s office remodel is on schedule and staff said framing, rough‑ins and drywall are complete; the county is working on electrical and data connections and is targeting mid‑June completion. The IT server room was described as following a similar timeline with framing complete and mechanical/electrical/plumbing rough‑ins underway. A staff member said a new concrete pad for HVAC units would be poured in the next two weeks on the Mulberry side of the building.
At the jail, staff said the kitchen exhaust hood replacement finished and crews are resurfacing floors; kitchen staff are expected to move back into the space the week of May 26. An HVAC control upgrade at the jail was described as a multi‑phase project anticipated to finish in the fall to minimize disruption.
Work on the Veterans Building has advanced: staff reported sanitary sewer installation complete, exterior siding roughly 90% done, a new metal roof installed and windows and ceilings finished. The county has penciled in a move for the veteran affairs office the week of July 14.
Pinecrest renovations have begun with phase 1 work (First Floor East and Second Floor annex) started, demolition under way and a new air handler delivered. Staff said some neighbors and building occupants have complained about noise and smell from welding and soldering; mitigation steps are being used.
County staff also noted the Pinecrest project must be complete by the end of 2026 per contract timelines and that future phases, including a clinic area, will be scheduled later. The projects update included photos to be circulated to supervisors after the meeting.
