The proposed amendment would set the minimum frequency to once every 12 months “in accordance with minimum state and federal requirements,” Perkins said, while allowing additional sampling or inspections as needed.
The board voted to approve the first reading; staff said the change is primarily a language cleanup to align town practice with state and federal guidelines rather than a reduction in enforcement tools.
Staff recommended approval and will return the ordinance for second reading with any technical edits requested by the board.
