The Planning Commission on May 14 recommended approval of a dedication plat that would convert nearly 2 additional acres of Maid Industrial Drive into public right-of-way and vacate two temporary easements, a move public-works staff and the developer say will facilitate future subdivision and industrial development.
City planner Miss Benninger said the proposed dedication adds 1.958 acres to a prior right-of-way dedication for Maid Drive and brings the total dedicated right-of-way for Maid Industrial Drive to approximately 4.386 acres. Benninger said the road is already built to city standards and that final acceptance and recording require City Council endorsement following Planning Commission approval.
The Community and Economic Development Department said the additional frontage should help subdivide western parcels for future development. No public comments were offered and the commission voted to approve the dedication plat and forward it to City Council for final adoption and recording.
