Antigo board completes reorganization; elects officers for coming year

The Unified School District of Antigo Board of Education completed its annual reorganization and elected officers for the coming year.

Elected positions and approvals included: Danny Pyatt as board president; Catherine Solon as board clerk; Kristen Matt Miller as vice president; Jill Maddock Nelson as treasurer; Diana Shannon as secretary; Glenda Oginski as chair pro tem; and Deanna (Diana) Shannon as clerk pro tem. The board also reappointed representatives for external bodies: Bobby Braun as delegate to the 2026 Wisconsin Association of School Boards (WASB) delegate assembly and an alternate (as announced), and Scott Peterson to represent the district in the joint review for Tax Increment Finance (TIF) with the City of Antigo. Committee chairs and members for the coming year were announced and distributed in a handout to board members.

How it happened: Nominations were taken from the floor for each office; where only one nominee stood the board elected the person by voice vote. Some nominees declined nominations for certain offices during the process. The president stated that the documents handed out earlier (Robert’s Rules overview, parliamentary procedure cheat sheet, and guidance on obtaining the floor) were provided to assist new and returning members with meeting procedure.

Why it matters: Reorganization sets internal leadership for board operations, committee assignments, and official delegates to external bodies, which governs how the board will proceed with committee reviews and policy updates over the next year.

No roll-call vote tallies were read into the record for these elections beyond voice confirmations and acceptance by nominees.

Follow-up: The board scheduled committee appointments and directed administration to support committee work and policy vetting through NEOLA (the district’s policy service).
