Lumpkin noted that Newton stations 14, 7, 8 and 9 border Rockdale County and were the most likely to respond under the agreement.
Lumpkin cited recent mutual aid responses — for example, Newton units assisting during a bio‑lab fire — and said the updated agreement was presented by Rockdale’s new Fire Chief Jimmy Robinson. The board approved the agreement after a brief discussion.
